HDSXR7505 - SPORTSTER XR750 ROAD RACE TANK
Harley Sportster XR750 TT Road race tank
This is our XR750 replica road race tank for your Sportster. The XR750 frames had a very skinny (1″) backbone so the original XR750 tank wouldn’t fit onto the stock Sportster frame (1.65″). We have completely redesigned the tunnel to fit this tank to the standard Sportster frame.
The original 5GL XR750 top shell was modified to match the Sportster tunnel. This tank has a neat dimple top/front and can be bolted to the backbone (you need to drill and tap) right behind the headstock. The rear of the tank has a deep pinch seam that can be drilled for a mounting point or two. A 3/8″ fuel bung is normally placed on the front left side of the tank, we can supply a matching Pingel valve.

HDSXR75065 - XR750 ROADRACE TANK - LARGE
Harley Sportster XR750 TT Road race tank
This is a replica of the large (6.5GL) XR750 road race tank for your Sportster. The XR750 frames had a very skinny (1″) backbone so the original XR750 tank wouldn’t fit onto the stock Sportster frame (1.65″). So we have completely redesigned the tunnel to fit this tank to the standard Sportster frame. The heavily sculpted top is the same as the original 6.5GL XR750 tank. A 3/8″ fuel bung is normally placed on the front left side of the tank, we can supply a matching Pingel valve.
The tank comes with two mounting studs on the bottom and an insert in the back. You will need to weld some mounting points onto the frame. Of course, you can also fabricate a tank strap, the original tank was mounted this way. Please discuss your preferences with your sales rep at the time of the order.

We designed this XR750 conversion seat so you don’t have to do the (mino) fabrication that is necessary to install the original race item below.
This seat has an under seat storage compartment and a taillight/licenseplate bracket integrated into it’s design.

The three piece design pictured was obtained from Rob Ianucci of Team Obsolete; the molds were taken off of original, unmounted Harley Davidson parts.
Two different versions are available. The lowers are similar, but the upper differs depending on whether the bike is a drum or disc brake unit.
The disc brake version of this fairing has a much smaller and shorter dash area to make room for the massive brake master cylinder mounted on the handlebars, shown in the pictures below.
